When I heard that the movie version of "Run for Money" was going to be released and that I was going to be the main cast, I wondered if it was a prank (laughs). Before filming, I went to practice athletics, and as the days passed, I realized that it wasn't a lie! Yamato, who I play, has some unconventional aspects, but he is a very compassionate character who really cares about his friends. The members of FANTASTICS were really nice and interesting from the first time I met them...I was really happy to be able to work with them because I had watched the drama in which SATO Taiki, who plays Joji, appeared. "Run for Money" is synonymous with my generation... I was surprised when I was chosen to appear in the film because it was popular at school and everyone would imitate the "Hunter Release!". I'm very happy to be able to appear with such a great cast in this 20th anniversary film! Ken, who I played, has a complex in his heart, but that's what makes him human... he's a little lame, but he's very realistic and I like him! I felt the youth of the members of FANTASTICS in my acting, so of course there was a bond between us as characters, but we also became close through filming, and I felt the youth of the members in real life. I've been watching "Run for Money" since I was a child, and even as a child I had a strong confidence that "I can run for money!", so I'm proud to be able to appear in this movie, and I want to brag about it to my younger self. I didn't have much acting experience to begin with, but as I seriously played the role of Yugo, I saw the bond between the six of them, and the faces and serious gazes of the staff who supported me, and I feel like I was able to act beyond the lines of emotion.
